INTRODUCTION
ABOUT THE CUSTOMER
Via is one of the largest retail companies in Brazil, responsible for the store chains under the Casas Bahia and Ponto banners, owned by the furniture manufacturer Bartira, in addition to managing the e-commerce site Extra.com.br.
THE CHALLENGE
The company has more than 130,000 tenants in its marketplace, 70% of which are considered small businesses, family organizations or with few employees in their administration. Decided to bring more practicality and organization to these small and medium-sized shopkeepers, VIA sought Fleye to design and develop an application that would help managers in the operation of their virtual stores, from offering products, tracking sales to customer service.

THE PROCESS

The Diagnosis

Until then, shopkeepers used the marketplace web platform where they managed to manage their operation through it. However, the experience was not simplified, mainly because it required someone to be in front of the computer all the time to monitor the status of orders and thus carry out the necessary procedures so that the logistics of the sale were completed.

This reality worked well for large companies that have many people at their disposal in the back office, but for the small entrepreneur who often needs to move from the office to the warehouse or even to buy utensils, it definitely did not bring agility.
Delay in task processing – slowness and delay in the operation.
Via seems to have a platform focused on large companies – it needs a person for every action.
It would change the commercial process, today it is still plastered. It would have to be more automated, smarter.
With the above reality in mind, we started our work looking especially at small and medium-sized retailers. Our design team carried out a series of in-depth interviews in order to collect information and understand what daily routines were like, difficulties encountered in using the current platform, as well as other obstacles faced by people who manage stores on the marketplace.
THE PROCESS

The Marketplace App

We understand that the project for the new Marketplace app should have two phases:
1ª PHASE
Improve the experience of the current web platform, in which we discovered many gaps and difficulties encountered by people who use it on a daily basis.
2ª PHASE
Second, we need to bring innovation and agility so that retailers can compete in the fierce e-commerce market.
Therefore, the main objectives were:

Create a new communication channel with the retailer.

Bring an advisory platform in relation to sales.

Generate alerts and push notifications throughout the entire sales and logistics flow.

Use artificial intelligence within the App for improvements.

Promote insights based on search, conversion and competitiveness data.

Create a minimalist and fast app focused on sales and that connects with our quality indicators, VIA COIN and recommendation system.
THE PROCESS

Phase 1: Immersion

What have we done?

1.

Understanding the business context and market analysis.

2.

Interviews and journeys with shopkeepers.

3.

Mapping of the new app.

4.

Drawings, flow tests and functional prototype

5.

Work plan, choice of technologies and scope definition.

6.

Opportunities for strategic moves.
RESULTS

Phase 2: Development

In the second phase, our dev team embarked on building the new application with all its might, with the support of the designers who designed the solution. The new app was developed with Flutter technology, Google's mobile framework, and lasted 4 months for the first phase.
What have we done?
Implementation of the app using Flutter technology.

Integration of the app with the Via de Vantagens program.

Integration of the app with the intelligence system for insights and sales.

Launch of the app on Google Play and Apple Store.

Monitoring the initial use and necessary adjustments of UX / UI.
RESULTS

Delivery

1.

We think about the salespeople's experience and propose the design of a system respecting Via's visual identity.

2.

We carry out a new form of communication making it easier to access information.

3.

We innovated and brought more agility to shopkeepers so that they can compete in the fierce e-commerce market.
Thank you Fleye who embarked with everything on this project, and did a great job!
It was great how all the teams connected and supported in the different ways so that we could bring this innovation to our tenants and our marketplace in the best way.
